艱難歲月

1999年, Dicky受訪時憶起往事: 長兄為父, 當年照顧家人的責任落在他身上, 為了一家人的生活費和弟弟們的學費, Dicky非常努力工作。在家境最惡劣時, 連家裡的電話也被截斷了, 結果要將在新秀歌唱比賽中獲得的兩隻名貴紀念手錶拿去典當。為生計, 母親亦幫忙照顧別家的小孩, 高峰期家裡有七個小孩在哭哭鬧鬧或跳來跳去, 為了減輕母親的工作, 他和弟弟們會幫忙餵食、換衣服、指導功課等等。

In 1999, Dicky had an interview and thought of the hard old days: When father left, being the eldest son, Dicky took up the responsibility to take care of his family, he worked so hard to earn a living for the whole family and so as brothers’ school fees. During the most difficult period, the telephone service of their home was cut, Dicky had to bring two valuable watches (his champion awarded gift in the singing competition) to pawn shop for money. His mother also helped by babysitting neighbour’s children, in order to help reducing mother’s workload, Dicky and his brothers used to look after the children on changing clothes, eating, doing homework, etc..
