Dicky Cheung's mother nearly drowns
Dicky Cheung's mother, Yu Ka Bik, was revealed to have recently been hospitalised after a near-drowning incident while swimming in the pool of Tsim Sha Tsui's InterContinental Hong Kong.
According to Jayne Stars, the 72-year-old was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after passing out at the swimming pool. It was also reported that her heart had stopped beating twice before the doctors were able to stabilise her condition.

Dicky's estranged brother and former manager Henry was spotted visiting her at the hospital on the same day with a family friend, Andy Hui, before leaving at 9pm. Their visit was followed by Dicky and his wife Jess Zhang an hour later as they flew in from Hangzhou, China.
The couple, along with Dicky's younger brother Lawrence Cheung, stayed with their unconscious mother until midnight, before going home after a midnight snack in Jordan.
After his visit on Saturday, Dicky revealed that his mother's condition is improving and expressed, "[We] thought she would stay in a coma for the next few days, but she's doing better now. She reacts to me when I talk to her, and her eyes are slightly opened. I can feel that she is working hard to give us a reaction."
Thanking the media for their concern, Dicky disclosed that he has arranged for a priest to bless her, saying, "My mother is Catholic, as our entire family is, which is why I arranged for a priest for an anointing service. It is a simple blessing ceremony to bless my mother, to pray for God to help her find courage and restore her health."
However, Dicky declined to comment on whether they will be suing the hotel for his mother's accident.
