1984年, Dicky雖在新秀歌唱大賽中奪得冠軍, 但華星卻仍未有與他簽合約, 故此他並未有任何收入, 只是靠著在比賽中獲得的二萬五千元獎金作為一家人的生活費。


In 1984, though Dicky won the champion in the “TVB 3rd Singing Contest”, he still waited for his contract from the organiser. Meanwhile he had no income yet and needed to use his award prize for expenses of the whole family.
